Description

The Manor House and attached barn to the east is a Grade II listed building located on Main Street in Little Harrowden. The house dates back to 1570, with elements from the 17th century and late 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and limestone, topped with a slate roof, and features a double-depth plan with three storeys.

The garden front was remodeled in the late 18th century and includes a three-window range of sash windows with glazing bars on the first and second floors. The ground floor has 19th-century French doors with glazing bars and moulded wood surrounds, complete with cornices above. The gable parapets and stone stacks at the ends are made of ashlar. To the right of the garden front, there is a two-storey, two-window range that likely dates from the late 18th century.

The entrance front, located at the rear of the garden front, features a late 17th-century gable with parapets and a finial. It includes two six-panelled doors, one of which has a hood supported by cast-iron columns, along with sash windows that also have glazing bars. Attached to the left of the entrance front is an 18th-century barn with a 19th-century roof.

Inside, the room to the right of the garden front contains a 16th or early 17th-century open fireplace with a moulded stone surround. There is also a datestone from 1570 in a first-floor room, which is said to have an inscription associated with it.
