Description
Little Harrowden House is a mid-18th century house that was altered in the late 19th century. It is built of regularly coursed ironstone with an ashlar facade, topped with a slate and plain-tile roof. The house originally had a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. It was originally designed with a four-window range, but now features a three-window range of late 19th century four-light stone mullion windows with transoms, set within 18th century openings that have flat arches and keyblocks. To the left of the center, there is a part-glazed door under a flat arch head with a keyblock and a 20th century hood. The building has a moulded stone cornice, ashlar gable parapets, and kneelers, along with two flat-topped roof dormers. There are brick and stone stacks at both ends. An 18th century barn is attached to the right of the main front and has been incorporated into the house; it includes three 19th century casements and an ashlar gable parapet on the right side. There are also late 19th century extensions at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
