Description

The Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century to the 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. Originally, it probably had a three-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The building has a four-window range in the attic, featuring 19th century style casements beneath eyebrow dormers. The ground floor has similar windows under wooden lintels. To the right of the center, there is a 20th century lean-to porch with a slate rail. The bay on the far left has a lower ridge, and there are rebuilt stone stacks at the ridge and end of the house. Attached to the far right is another building that is likely of the same construction, featuring a 20th century lean-to roof and garage doors. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have remains of an open fireplace. The Cottage was converted into three dwellings in the late 18th or early 19th century and was reconverted in the 20th century.
