Description
Nos. 8-13 Mackworth Green is a row of six houses built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century and restoration in the 20th century. The houses are constructed from regularly coursed ironstone and topped with slate roofs. They have a two-unit plan and rise two storeys high, forming a six-window range that features irregularly spaced 20th-century casements with glazing bars set beneath wooden lintels. There are five 20th-century doors, also under wooden lintels, located between the windows. A single-storey 20th-century extension is attached to the far left, providing access to No. 13. The buildings have brick stacks at the ridge and ends. An inscribed tablet in the center of the row reads "Mackworth Green." The left gable has a lean-to attached, and the rear elevation is similar to the front. The interiors have not been inspected. Additionally, there is an 18th-century wall attached to the west of No. 13, which features pantile coping and encloses the west side of Mackworth Green.
