Description
No. 10 Church Street is a house that is said to be medieval, likely remodeled in the early 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and limestone ashlar, topped with a Collyweston slate roof. The building may have originally been a hall house with a two-unit plan. It stands two storeys high and features a two-window range of 19th-century style casements set under wooden lintels. To the far right, there is a 20th-century door, also under a wooden lintel, which is accessed by a flight of stone steps. To the left of the door, there is a two-stage ashlar buttress, and the remains of a plinth can be seen. Brick stacks are located at both ends of the building. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a bressumer and a winder stair alongside it. The ceiling beams and plank doors are fitted with strap hinges. The house may have served as a Priest's house.
