Description
This is an early 17th-century house on Bridge Street, Kingscliffe. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit lobby-entry plan, the house has two storeys and an attic. The front elevation features a three-window arrangement. Canted bay windows with chamfered mullions are located on either side of the ground floor. Above these, jettied gablets are supported by moulded brackets, with three-light stone mullion windows on the first floor. A similar two-light window sits centrally on the first floor. A 20th-century door, likely repositioned, is centrally placed under a wooden lintel. The left gable includes a two-light stone mullion attic window with chamfered mullions, as well as a 20th-century bay window at ground floor level. The right gable has two casement windows set beneath wooden lintels. A central stone chimney stack features four flues. A 19th-century extension runs along the rear. Although the interior was not inspected at the time of listing, it is noted to contain remnants of two open fireplaces.
