Description

The kiln base is an early 20th-century structure made of mass concrete and features a circular plan. It is believed to have been built for iron ore smelting during the First World War, although it was not completed. This kiln base is part of a group that includes another kiln base at OS 9474 9966 and kilns at OS 9473 9966 and OS 9472 9966.
