Description

This is a kiln base from the early 20th century, made of mass concrete and featuring a circular plan. It is believed to have been built for iron ore smelting during the First World War, although it was not completed. The kiln base is part of a group that includes another kiln base at OS 9476 9966 and kilns located at OS 9473 9966 and OS 9472 9966.
