Description
This is a later 19th-century lime kiln of exceptional size, featuring a square plan with battered sides. It has broad kiln-eyes with tapered heads supported by cast-iron lintel bars. The kiln-eyes measure approximately 2 meters wide and 2.1 meters high, with additional iron bars inside. Each kiln-eye includes two downward-pointing iron pintles on each side.
The crucible is broad and lined with engineering brick headers, leading up to a set-back rubble stone rim. There is a rubble stone outer parapet, and an earth embankment is present against the west side.
