Description

ECTON CHURCH WAY SP8263 18/71 Wall and gatepiers approx. 02/08/72 50m. SW of Ecton Hall (Formerly listed as Gatepiers at Ecton Hall)

GV II Wall and gatepiers. Probably mid C18. Squared coursed limestone and ironstone wall with ashlar gatepiers attached to right with moulded cornice and ball finials. Wooden handgate. Rusticated gatepier attached to wall to right has plain cornice and pyramid coping. Forms part of wall to Ecton House (q.v) with wall and gatepiers approx. 30w. south-west of Ecton House (q.v.) and 20m. south of Ecton House (q.v.); and part of the entrance gates to Ecton Hall (q.v.) with wall and gatepier approx. 55m. south-west of Ecton Hall (q.v.).
