Description

The Roman Catholic Church of St Wilfrid, located on the north side of West Street, dates from 1852, although this is the only date that remains visible. It is a simple stone building with a pedimented end facing the road. The pediment is now rough-rendered and features a quatrefoil light. The church has two tall semi-circular-headed windows with glazing bars and a semi-circular-headed doorway in the center, which includes a radiating fanlight and double doors, accessed by two steps. The church is part of a group that includes Nos 15 to 19 (odd), 25, and 33 to 53 (odd), as well as Paine's Almshouses and Oundle Congregational Church.
