Description
This is a row of four houses located on the west side of Ecton High Street. Numbers 18 to 22 date from the mid-18th century, while number 24 was built in 1907, as indicated by a datestone reading "F.E.S. 1907." The houses are constructed of squared coursed lias stone with concrete tile roofs. Each house has a two-unit plan, creating an eight-window facade. The windows are casements with glazing bars. The windows at numbers 18 to 22 are topped with wooden lintels, while those at number 24 have concrete lintels. Modern doors are located between the windows, some of which are also protected by wooden lintels. The houses at numbers 18 to 22 have ashlar gable parapets, and brick stacks are visible at the ridge and end of the building. The interiors were not inspected, but numbers 20 and 22 are known to contain open fireplaces with bressumers.
