Description
12 and 12A Main Street are two houses built in the mid-18th century. They are constructed from squared coursed limestone and ironstone, topped with slate roofs. Each house originally consisted of two units and has an L-shaped plan. The front elevation facing the road features a two-window arrangement of 19th-century casement windows set beneath wooden lintels. The roof is a combination of hipped and gabled styles, with brick stacks located at the ridge and at the ends. The rear elevation mirrors the front, also displaying casement windows under wooden lintels. In the center of each house, there are two 19th-century plank doors, again beneath wooden lintels.
Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have chamfered ceiling beams and an open fireplace with a bressumer.
