Description

Old Vine Cottage is a small house dating back to the 15th century, with alterations and extensions in the 17th century and later. The house has a timber frame with plastered infill, and distinctive cruck trusses framing the second bay from the left. It is covered by a thatched roof, half-hipped on the left and hipped on the right, with two intermediate brick chimneys, one of which is made with thin brick. The cottage is one-and-a-half storeys high and has four bays. It features irregular leaded casement windows; on the ground floor, there are three paired casements in the second bay, a three-light window to the remaining bays (those to the right being 20th century), and a single light window in the centre. The first floor has two small paired casements set into the thatch on the left side. A door is located between the left-hand bays. A Sun Fire Insurance plaque is affixed to the centre of the building. 20th-century extensions have been added to the rear.
