Description

The Vicarage is a house dating from the 17th century, significantly altered and extended in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The timber frame is exposed on the southeast side, with brick and rendered infill, while the remainder of the house is covered in pebbledash. The roof is tiled, with bargeboards added around 1900, and features a central brick chimney. The house originally comprised four bays, with two storeys and an attic. The southeast front has flanking gabled bays; the bay to the left features two barred sash windows on each main floor and a casement window in the attic, while the bay to the right has a ground-floor lean-to, a square bay window with sashes on the first floor, and a small leaded casement in the attic, alongside an external brick chimney. In the two centre bays, the bay to the left is blank, and the bay to the right has a four-light barred casement window on the ground floor, French doors on the first floor, and a paired casement window in a gabled attic dormer. A gabled porch provides entry on the northwest side. A circa 1900 extension to the southwest is partly pebbledashed and partly tile-hung, with a tiled roof, brick chimneys, and barred casement windows.
