Description

This is a 17th-century house located on The Green in Little Horwood. It is timber-framed with whitewashed brick infill, and has steeply pitched tile roofs which were originally thatched, with a half-hipped shape at the outer ends. A small brick stack is located centrally on the main block. The house is one storey and attic, with three bays, the bay to the right being lower. Windows are largely 20th-century, with barred wooden casements; these are 2-light on the ground floor outer bays and in the roof of the left-hand bays, a 3-light window on the ground floor centre, and a small single casement in the roof between the left-hand bays. A lobby entry at the rear, located centrally on the main block, is sheltered by a gabled timber porch with shaped bargeboards. Inside, there is a large stone open fireplace and a staircase aligned in a central location. A whitewashed brick extension is visible to the rear of the lower bay.
