Description

The balustrade to the forecourt of Swanbourne House School dates from around 1865. It features stone balusters with a moulded plinth and cornice. The corners of the forecourt have curved sections. The east and west sides have entrances that are flanked by square stone piers, which have panelled sides along with moulded plinths and cornices. The piers on the east side are topped with ball finials, while similar piers at the corners do not have finials. This balustrade is included for its group value.
