Description
Charlton Hill Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, which was refronted and extended in the 19th century. It has a timber frame with thin brick infill visible in the rear gable, while the front range has rendered gables and is refronted in red brick with dentilled eaves. The roof features an altered slate pitch at the front and a steeper tiled pitch at the rear. A central chimney made of thin brick has a 19th-century dentilled top. The house has a T-plan layout and is two storeys tall with two bays on the front. It features tripartite barred sash windows with segmental heads. The central entrance has a lobby entry with a six-panelled door surrounded by a wooden architrave, which includes a Greek fret frieze and cornice. There is a blind panel above on the first floor. Inside, there is a moulded spine beam and one room retains 17th-century panelling.
