Description
Nos. 3 and 5 on Winslow Road are a pair of cottages dating from the late 16th century. They feature a timber frame with herringbone brick infill and a brick and rendered rubble stone plinth. The cottages have a half-hipped thatch roof and a brick chimney located between the right-hand bays. The buildings are one and a half storeys tall and include a cellar, with a total of three bays.
The cottages have three-light leaded windows, with two located on the first floor to the left and two on the ground floor to the left, both fitted with board shutters. There is no window on the first floor to the right. The opening to the cellar in the left bay has a timber lintel. Between the right-hand bays, there is a flush panelled door with a small square window above it, along with a Sun fire insurance plaque.
To the right, there is an early 19th-century lean-to that is timber framed with brick infill, featuring a single leaded light at the front and an entry on the side.
