Description

The Church of All Saints is a parish church that dates from the 13th to the 16th centuries and underwent significant restoration in the 19th century. It is constructed of flint with some clunch and predominantly features 19th-century limestone dressings. The building includes a west tower, nave, north aisle, and chancel, all topped with a tiled roof. The church displays 19th-century battlements, gargoyles, and a coped east gable with a cross finial. There is a 19th-century south porch, which has a stone lower section and a timber-framed upper part, also with a tiled roof. The south doorway, restored from the 14th century, features fleurons in its moulded arch. On either side, there are two-light restored traceried windows, along with two clerestory windows from the 15th or 16th century. The chancel has a lancet window at the west end, and the north aisle features restored 14th-century windows and a small door.

Inside, the church has a three-bay north arcade with late 13th-century arches supported by circular piers, which have alternating octagonal and circular capitals. The chancel arch is low, and the nave roof, dating from the 15th century, includes traceried spandrels. Notable fittings include a circular 13th-century font with a scalloped bowl and a band of foliage around the top, along with a 19th-century stone pulpit and altar featuring a reredos, brass altar rails, and encaustic tiles on the chancel floor.
