Description

The cruck barn, located to the southwest of Moat Farmhouse, is a medieval structure that has undergone alterations and was converted into a living room in the 20th century. It features an exposed oak cill beam and posts, including a cruck truss in the northeast gable. The barn has modern brick infill with leaded casement windows and a thatched roof with hipped gables. Inside, there are four bays, with the one at the southwest end likely being an addition, which includes a modern brick inglenook fireplace. The barn contains four cruck trusses with blades that rise above the collars, some featuring lower collars and spurs to the wallplate.
