Description

This is a 17th-century cottage, subsequently altered. It is timber-framed with red brick infill and a partial re-fronting. The cottage has a thatched roof, half-hipped to the south gable, with a central brick chimney and a projecting chimney on the south gable. There are two pointed eaves dormers. It is one-and-a-half storeys high, and L-shaped, with a gabled wing to the right. This wing includes a modern bay window with a tiled lean-to roof and a two-light casement window above. A blocked door is situated to the left, with a tiled hood above it. A modern glazed door is in the centre, a small bay window to the right, and a 20th-century lean-to projection in the angle with the wing. A plaque on the wall, formerly by the door, displays the arms and motto of Edward Bonus, Rector, dated 1882.
