Description

Ryan's Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on Main Street in Adstock. The building is constructed of rubble stone, which has been patched with brick. The gable end features a stone base, with brick above that displays a blue diaper pattern, and is supported by two large battered buttresses. The cottage has an old tile roof with a central stack that has a thin brick base and two rebuilt diagonal shafts above. It is one-and-a-half storeys tall and consists of two bays. The northwest front has 19th-century three-light wooden casements with cambered heads on the ground floor, and eaves-breaking dormers above. Additionally, there is a 19th-century gabled brick porch with a slate roof on the southeast front.
