Description

Fig Tree Cottage is a house dating to circa 1600. It is timber-framed with colourwashed brick infill. The rear wing has a concrete tile roof with bargeboards to the gables, while the front wing has a corrugated asbestos roof. A chimney stack at the junction between the wings features a projecting base of colourwashed rubble stone with brick above, and another brick stack is located on the right-hand rear gable. The house is L-shaped.

The two-storey, two-bay rear wing has casements, and a 19th-century paired casement is found in the attic gable. The two-storey, two-bay front wing has a lower eaves line and a half-hipped roof on the street-facing side. It contains irregular 20th-century barred casements, a 19th-century paired casement in the upper left bay, and a sun fire insurance plaque on the street gable.
