Description
Nos 3 and 5 Main Street are a pair of cottages that originated as a 17th century timber framed house. The building was extended to the left and re-faced with brick in the late 19th century. The timber frame is exposed on the right gable and at the rear. It features a tiled roof with brick stacks located at the center and between the left-hand bays. The cottages are one storey and have an attic, comprising four bays, each with a gabled dormer. Both floors contain triple sash windows with cambered brick heads. No. 3 has a board door positioned to the right of center, accompanied by a small sash window to the upper left. No. 5 features a central half-glazed door topped with a flat wooden hood supported by brackets. Additionally, there is a projection at the rear of the right-hand bay that is also timber framed.
