Description
Adstock Priory is a house built in 1911 that incorporates re-used timbers from the 17th century. The structure is timber-framed with brick infill arranged in various patterns and features a thatched roof with three brick stacks that have vertical grooves. The building has one-and-a-half storeys and consists of five bays. The outer bays are gabled facing the street, while the three central bays have thatch eyebrows above the first floor and a higher central ridge. The windows are leaded casements with wooden mullions and upper glazing bars, arranged irregularly on the ground floor and in three lights on the first floor. There is a square bay window with a hipped tiled roof located to the right of the centre on the ground floor, and a barred and glazed door with a slight projection and a gabled top is found in the left-hand bay. Sun fire insurance plaques are displayed in the entry gable and the central bay. The building is included for its group value.
