Description
Windsor Lodge, along with its gate piers and railings, was built around 1860, likely designed by George Devey. This one-storey building is constructed from ragstone with stone dressings, featuring plaster with decorative boarding and an old patterned tile roof. The east elevation showcases a gable with oversails in two tiers, supported by timber corner brackets, and includes a bay window with wooden mullions and a transom. The north elevation features an open timber-framed porch and a bay window beneath a prominent gable end. The entrance is flanked by painted timber balustrades, leading to stone gate piers topped with polished granite balls. To the south of the lodge, there is a length of rubble wall ending with a similar stone pier. The gate piers are marked with the initials C, H, S, and C, representing the Duke of Sutherland and Cliveden.
