Description
Westfield Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions and a new front added in the early 19th century, and a rear portion partly rebuilt in the 18th century. The right side of the house is timber-framed with later brick infill, while the front is of early 19th-century flint with brick dressings and dentil eaves, with some thin brick to the rear. It has old tile roofs, with a hipped roof over the front range. Brick chimneys are located in the centre of the front range and at the far end of the timber-framed wing. The house is arranged in an L-shape. The front has two bays with four-pane sash windows, which have been altered, and segmental brick arches above. A 20th-century door is centrally positioned, with a semi-circular brick arch and a blind window panel above. The right side has two and a half original bays featuring irregular 20th-century barred wooden casements and a blocked 17th-century three-light window to the first floor on the left. A 20th-century brick extension is attached to the far end.
