Description
Bakehouse Farmhouse is a house that features a 17th-century bay at the rear, a front range built in the late 18th to early 19th century, and a 20th-century extension to the front right. The rear bay is constructed with timber framing and has whitewashed brick and plaster infill. The front range is made of red and vitreous chequer brick and has dentil eaves. The roofs are tiled, with brick chimneys flanking the front range and another at the far gable of the rear bay.
The front range consists of two storeys and two bays, featuring 20th-century paired wooden casements. The ground floor windows have chequered cambered heads, while the upper windows have asymmetrical top lights. There is a central two-panelled door with two small lights and a single wooden casement above it. The rear bay has one storey and an attic, with 20th-century wooden casements and two original window openings in the gable. The 20th-century flat-roofed extension is located in the rear angle.
Inside, the house contains old board doors, a stop-chamfered spine beam in the rear bay, and a large fireplace at the right end of the front range. The building is included for its group value.
