Description
Sunnycot and the Old Post House is a house that has been subdivided and enlarged to the west. It dates from the 17th century and was refronted in 1738. The building is timber framed, with brick refronting and brick on the flanks, featuring red stretches and grey or vitrified headers. The rear of the house has exposed timber framing with brick infill, and it is topped with old tile roofs. The structure consists of three bays, with a taller addition on the left that was formerly a separate cottage and is now part of the Old Post House. The house has two storeys, and the 1738 refronting includes three-light casements and two doors located between the left-hand bay and a lean-to porch. A date stone above the doors reads 'WSM 1738'. There is also an early 20th-century addition at the rear. The left-hand bay has a later brick front, which is roughcast and timber framed behind.
