Description

Hawthorn Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating to 1740. It features flint brick dressings, with the north elevation covered in roughcast, a brick south-east wing, and an old tile roof. The main three-bay range has a gabled and projecting centre bay. A later 18th-century south-east wing adds a single bay. A 19th-century infill is present on the south-west side. The farmhouse has two storeys with half-hipped attics to the south wings, and includes sash and casement windows. The 1740 block has moulded brick eaves and a parapet, with copings to the east gable, a band course, and window jambs and arches. A brick date panel in the east gable reads 'WHM 1740'. A modern house, Manor Lodge, is attached to the west end and is not historically significant.
