Description
Guild Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century but was refronted in the early 19th century. It features a brick casing over timber framing, with the framing still visible on the west gable and at the rear. The roof is covered with old tiles. The 19th-century front design corresponds to the division of the house into a pair of handed cottages. The building has four bays and is two storeys tall. The left and right bays contain 3-light casements, while the inner bay has board doors with lean-to tiled hoods above. The centre features a half-glazed door. On the first floor, there are 2-light casements in the outer bays, each with gables above. There are stacks at both ends of the building. At the rear, there is a two-storey addition with an old tiled roof. Inside, there is a four-centred fireplace on the back wall of the left bay, which is now blocked and is of early 17th-century style. The interior also includes chamfered and stopped spine beams.
