Description

This is a late 16th to 17th century house, originally an inn, altered subsequently. The building is timber-framed with diagonal and curved braces, filled with whitewashed brick and a brick gable on the right. It has an old tile roof and a 17th-century chimney stack with a pilaster between the right-hand bays, and a small 20th-century brick chimney to the left gable. The layout is a T-shape, with one storey, an attic, and cellars. There are wooden casement windows: three-light windows on the ground floor of the left-hand bays, and two-light windows elsewhere. Smaller windows are located on each floor, aligned with the chimney. First-floor windows are housed in gabled dormers. A cellar window is centrally located. The left gable has an entrance and a two-light leaded casement window on the first floor.
