Description
Chestnut Cottage is a Grade II listed building located on the north side of High Street in Wendover. This structure, dating from the 18th century, was originally a house and is now used as an office or shop. It is constructed of brick, possibly over earlier materials, and features a hipped mansard roof with tiles, where the upper part projects slightly. The front has one shallow gabled dormer and a parapet with a moulded brick dentil cornice. The building is two stories tall with an attic, showcasing three recessed openings on the first floor that have flat gauged brick arches. The outer openings contain old barred sash windows, while the center opening is blank and rendered. The ground floor, which dates from the 20th century, projects slightly and is covered by a tiled pentice roof, featuring two sash windows.
