Description

Haddenham Hall is a house built around 1835, with a northern extension added in the late 19th century. The building is constructed from witchert, which is rendered and colourwashed, and features a hipped slate roof. The main structure has three wide bays, with an additional two-bay extension to the north, and is two storeys high beneath a continuous roof.

The east front showcases the original 1835 section, which includes a central two-panel door and a porch supported by simplified Doric columns. The right bay contains three sash windows, while the first floor features oriel windows in the outer bays with French casements. There are balconies with cast-iron railings and panel standards on the verandah, decorated with a honeysuckle pattern on the right and scrolls on the left. Flanking stacks are present on the roof.

The two-bay south elevation has canted bay windows on the ground floor, also with French casements, and wood balcony rails with a verandah above. This house is noted for its high-quality witchert construction, characteristic of a late Georgian villa.

A witchert boundary wall extends from the northeast corner of the property, curving around and running south along Churchway. This wall is roughcast and painted on a rubble plinth, topped with tile and ridge tile coping, and features ramps at the corner. Opposite the entrance door, there are three panelled gatepiers with plinths and pyramidal caps, along with timber gates.
