Description

This is an 18th-century house, formerly an inn, with attached stores. It stands on the west side of Churchway, Haddenham. The house is constructed of brick in a header bond pattern, with decorative brick dressings. It has an old tile roof. The house is three bays wide, with the central bay slightly projecting and topped with a pediment. There is a stone plinth and a moulded brick string course. The front door is a six-panel design with a cornice hood supported by cut console brackets. Canted bay windows with leaded casements are situated in the outer bays. Moulded cornices and shutters are present. A band course runs around the building. The first-floor windows are three-light designs on the outer bays, two-light in the centre, and a single light in the pediment, all with leaded casements. Dentilled eaves and a pediment feature on the front elevation, along with flanking stacks. A two-storey rear wing extends to the south, and another wing is located at the rear of the stores. The interior includes chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
