Description
No. 8 Dean Road is a small house dating from the 17th century, which was recased in brick in the 19th century. The timber frame is visible at the rear of the right-hand bay and features a central post at the front. The house has a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the left, and a central brick chimney. It is 1½ storeys tall with two bays. The 19th-century wooden casement windows include a three-light window on the ground floor and upper left, and a two-light window on the upper right. The first-floor windows are set into the thatch. There is a central half-glazed door with a plain wooden surround and an altered segmental head, with a similar head above the window to the right. Inside, there is a large double-sided fireplace with a cambered lintel on the right, and the left-hand room features a chamfered spine beam with a moulded end over the fireplace.
