Description

House. Built in the late 16th and 17th centuries, it was significantly renovated in the 20th century. The house has a timber frame with 20th-century herringbone brick infill, a rubble stone plinth, and a tiled roof with brick chimneys. It is two stories high and has two bays. The windows are mostly 20th-century barred wooden casements; the first floor has a three-light window, while the ground floor has a three-light casement and a single light to the left bay, and a four-light window to the right. A lobby entry on the right has a four-panelled ledged door with a small leaded casement window above. One original four-light oak mullion window remains at the rear. Inside, there is a fireplace with chamfered stone jambs on the first floor, and one old board door. An early 20th-century brick extension with a slate roof and two bays of barred sash windows with segmental heads was added to the right, along with a similar extension to the rear of the right-hand bay. A former brick and tiled-roof outbuilding, now incorporated into the house on the left, has 20th-century barred wooden casements, two doors, a former cart entry, and a lunette window to the right.
