Description

The Swan is a public house that features early 19th century alterations to an older building. It is constructed of red brick. The southern range has a slate roof that is hipped to the right, with a brick chimney on the left and boarded eaves supported by paired cut wooden brackets. The northern range has a tiled roof, two brick chimneys, and one rendered chimney on the left. The building is two storeys high.

The southern front has three bays with 4-pane sash windows that are irregularly placed, all featuring cambered heads. The door located between the left-hand windows has a marginally glazed fanlight and a wooden surround with shaped pilaster strips and a moulded cornice hood supported by scroll brackets.

The eastern front of the northern range has three bays, with tripartite barred sashes flanking a single sash on the first floor. On the ground floor to the right, there is a canted bay window with barred sashes, a 3-light barred wooden casement to the left, and a 20th-century window in the centre. There are two board doors, with the left door in a wooden surround that has a plain hood on brackets. Inside, there are some 17th century timber framing elements.
