Description
Stockall House is a house dating from the 16th to 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features colourwashed render over a timber frame and has a slate roof with an altered pitch, along with brick chimneys on the left and between the right-hand bays. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The right-hand ground floor bay contains a three-light barred wooden casement, while the other windows are leaded with moulded wooden mullions. The ground floor windows are set in canted bays with moulded wooden cornices, and the first floor has three-light casements.
There is a lobby entry between the right bays that features a six-panelled door, which is top-lit and set within a 20th-century wooden doorcase that includes incised pilaster strips, a frieze, and a hood on brackets. To the right, there is a small 20th-century extension designed in the style of the 16th century, which is set back. Additionally, there are extensions to the rear from the 19th and 20th centuries. Inside, the house shows a rubble stone plinth, a timber frame with curved and wavy braces, and stop-chamfered spine beams.
