Description
Braethorn is a small house dating from the 17th century, located on Little Horwood Road in Great Horwood. The building features a timber frame that is rendered, with planked posts at the corners. It has a half-hipped thatch roof and a brick stack situated between the right-hand bays. The house is 1½ storeys tall and consists of three bays, with the left bay being narrow and likely a slightly later addition.
On the ground floor, there are three-light leaded casements set within moulded wooden architrave frames. The first floor has paired barred wooden casements in the right-hand bays, also under thatch. The lobby entry includes a four-panelled door with a minimal wooden surround and a cornice hood, which is sheltered by a rustic thatched porch.
