Description
Number 7 is a house dating from the 17th century, which was extended on the left in the 18th century to create two cottages, but it is now used as a single dwelling. The building is constructed of witchert, which is rendered and colourwashed, sitting on a rubble plinth that is also rendered and colourwashed. It features a thatched roof that is hipped on the right side. The house has one and a half storeys and consists of four bays. There are two doors located in the second bay from the left. The ground floor has two-light leaded casements, with two in the left bay. There is a two-light eaves dormer on the left side and a three-light leaded casement eaves dormer in the third bay from the left. Above the left-hand door, there is a two-light casement. A 17th-century stack in the second bay forms a lobby entry plan, and there is a left gable stack with a two-light off-centre leaded casement on the first floor. Inside, the property features chamfered and stopped spine beams. To the south-west, facing Townsend Green, there is a witchert wall that is rendered on a rubble plinth, topped with pantile and cement ridge coping.
