Description
Meadowkeep is an 18th-century cottage located on the south-east side of Rudd’s Lane in Haddenham. The building is constructed of whitewashed and rendered witchert on a rubble plinth, with a plain tile roof. It has three bays and one storey plus an attic. The central bay features a board door and a three-light casement window, with two two-light casement windows to the left bay and one to the right. Two flat-roofed dormers are present over the left bays. Casement windows are also positioned in the gables, and the upper portion above collar level is weatherboarded. There is a stack on the left and a stack between the right-hand bays. An alteration is a modern rear addition. Inside, heavy ceiling beams are visible, and a date inscription '1735' is carved into a beam on the upper floor. The house initially displays evidence of having been a barn that was converted into three cottages, although it is now a single dwelling.
