Description
Nos. 9, 11, and 15 on High Street are a row of three houses dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The five bays on the right are constructed of thin 17th-century brick in English bond, featuring some rubble stone at the plinth and right bay, along with remnants of a moulded eaves cornice. The two bays on the left include some thin brick on the ground floor and 19th-century pale brick with dentil eaves above. The houses have an old tiled roof, with two intermediate chimney stacks that have rebuilt diagonal shafts made of thin brick—three on the left and two on the right. There is also a single square brick shaft at the far right. The buildings are two storeys tall with a total of seven bays. The ground floor has irregularly altered openings, with the right bays fitted with barred cast iron casements. The upper storey features paired barred wooden casements. There are three 20th-century doors, with the rightmost door having a gabled hood. To the left, there is a garage entry, and a sun fire insurance plaque is also present.
