Description
Yew Tree House is a 17th-century house that has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill on the far gable and front, while the rest has been rebuilt or encased in whitewashed brick. The near bay displays exposed curved tension braces and the ends of joists. The house has an old tile roof that is hipped over the near bay, with a brick chimney situated between the near bays. It stands two storeys high and consists of three bays that are positioned at right angles to the street. The windows are irregular 20th-century barred wooden casements, and there are traces of an old blocked mullion window on the first floor, aligned with the chimney. The central gabled projection, which forms a T-plan, is likely from the 18th century and has been altered in the 20th century. This projection features similar casements and a six-panelled door with a pedimented hood supported by slender cast iron shafts.
