Description

The dovecote at Church Farm is a mid-18th century structure made of red and vitreous brick, topped with an old tile roof. It is a small rectangular building, featuring four entrance holes on each gable, with the eastern gable also having a door that includes a rectangular barred fanlight. Inside, the dovecote contains approximately 350 nesting boxes, each with rectangular openings and continuous brick ledges below. The roof is supported by two queen strut trusses, one of which has been altered. This dovecote is situated on a moated site and is designated as a scheduled ancient monument.
