Description

The National Westminster Bank, formerly known as the National Provincial Bank, is an 18th-century, two-storey, three-bay red brick building located on the north-west side of High Street in Chalfont St Giles. It features a hipped roof covered with old tiles and a brick eaves cornice supported by cyma recta corbels. The building has barred double-hung box sash windows, with four panes wide on the ground floor and flanking the entrance, and three panes wide on the first floor. There are gauged flat arches above the windows. The entrance boasts a six-panel door set within an architraved doorcase, topped with an oblong fanlight and a moulded cornice hood. To the left of the building, there is an original wrought iron gateway.
