Description
Staceys Cottage is a 17th-century, timber-framed house located on the north-west side of High Street in Chalfont St Giles. The building has three bays and two stories, and it was refronted in the 18th century with red brick. Originally, it was divided into three cottages but is now two. The house features a modillion eaves and old tile roofs. There is a 17th-century brick stack positioned between the two right-hand bays, with two doors located in front of the stack and another stack on the left. The windows are barred double-hung box sashes, and the doors are six-panel types set in architraved doorcases that include brackets, broken cornices, and open pediments. The side elevation is timber-framed with brick infill and is painted below a slated carriageway roof on the right. The rear north-east wing is also timber-framed with painted brick infill, and it has three timber-framed gables, with the central gable being smaller.
