Description

Crockmore Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 16th to early 17th century, likely built in two phases. It has been partly rebuilt in the 19th century, including a 19th-century bay on the right. The structure features a heavy timber frame with diagonal bracing and brick infill. The rear and left gable are mostly rebuilt in brick and flint, with the rear section rendered, while the right bay is made of brick. The old tile roof is hipped to the right, and there are brick chimneys located between the left bays and to the right of the center.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with an entry passage in the central half bay. The 19th-century paired cast iron casements have small panes, and the ground floor window in the fourth bay has board shutters. The central half bay features a flush-panelled door with a flat hood supported by shaped wooden scroll brackets, and there is a board door to the right. There are traces of blocked original windows on the first floor to the left and center.

Inside, the farmhouse retains more timber framing, two large fireplaces, and a winder stair aligned with the central fireplace. A massive stop-chamfered spine beam is present in the right bay, which also features curved wind-braces.
