Description
Chears Orchard is a house dating from the 16th century, which was refurbished in the 20th century. It features a heavy timber frame with large braces, particularly curved on the northwest side, and has brick infill. The southeast gable was rebuilt in the 20th century using flint and brick. The roof is covered with 20th-century tiles and there are flanking brick chimneys, with the one at the south end also dating from the 20th century. The house has two storeys and three large bays, with irregular 20th-century wooden casements that include single horizontal glazing bars. On the southeast side, there is a 20th-century door with a lean-to hood in the right bay, along with flanking lean-to extensions.
